“I’ve loved fast cars all my life. I’ve long admired the great drivers. But I am aware of the danger. I know Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s fate. The reality is that race drivers Die. They crash and Burn, they roll over and catch fire. I’ve seen those pictures. Not me of Course , them. I have been in enough television shows and feature films to understand reality–the star never gets hurt.
((Shatner or Shatner’s co writer David Fisher should know that Dale Jr is alive and racing for the Army National Guard (Funny ha) But it was his father who was killed Dale Sr.))) Just thought I would blurt that out before the article was completed. (more…)

Wednesday morning William Shatner was the guest on the Howard Stern Show promoting “Up Till Now“. The interview went on for almost and hour and ranged on a number of topics from the book, to problems with the Trek cast, to the Abrams movie, to the death of Kirk and much more.
Excerpts and AUDIO below.
Excerpts from the interview
Shatner: I was probably an angry man…may have mistreated Trek co-stars
Stern played an infamous audio clip of Shatner mocking a director while recording a voice-over. Although Stern and his sidekick Robin Quivers thought it was justified and hilarious, Shatner admitted he might have gone too far and it was ‘bad behavior’ on his part. Stern then noted that many of his former Trek co-stars ‘hated’ him and asked if he might have treated his Trek co-stars poorly: More…….. (On Trekmovie.com)
Trek to the Troops started as a Sci-Fi Support the Troops site but our mission has expanded to Entertaining the Troops not just Sci-Fi so our site may change but the vision has not. There are many events and ideas in the planning stages and we are seeking many volunteers to help with making these events happen. I will announce new volunteers and their job duties soon as we officially add them to our team.
Current project is a Charity event for Military Charities. The event is a Paintball tournament. We are looking to have celebrity involvement in the event. Troops from all reserve component and National Guard will take part in creating their own teams to take part in the tournament adding to the mix a celebrity will be added to their team. Each team will be playing for one of the many charities that benefit Troops and their Families. (more…)
Here’s a funny Army Video Thought you all would enjoy
Marines being Marines
This is sad news, we here are thankful to Star Trek The Experience because in 2006 Star Trek The Experience donated 30 free tickets for both their rides for us to send out to the troops with care packages. We were very greatful and went to the Star Trek Convention in Los Vegas in August 2006 and thanked them personally for the tickets. The Characters and the Staff at STTE are great and would hate to see them out of a job and would hate to see it close. We hope they sale it to someone who will either keep the attraction open or reopen it at another hotel or other location in general. Just as long as it remains a open attraction for the fans to go and enjoy.

However, the current contract is up and it looks like 2008 may be the last year for Star Trek The Experience. (more…)

“Grand Theft Auto IV” marks a huge leap forward for videogames as an immersive experience while making little more than a few tweaks to the ultra-successful franchise’s formula. The technological prowess and artistic detail are so phenomenal and the sheer amount of content is so staggeringly deep that players will find themselves drawn into Liberty City like no other fictional place. Such deep immersion sometimes highlights the flaws in “Grand Theft Auto’s” well-worn formula, but that will be little more than an asterisk for the millions of gamers sure to be carjacking their way through “GTA IV” for a long, long time to come.
Like the last few “GTA” installments, the game follows a tough-as-nails newcomer working his way up in a city full of crazy characters, sexy women and endless opportunities to cause mayhem. The game opens with a man getting off a boat in Liberty City, a significantly downsized but amazingly lifelike replica of New York. Protagonist Niko Bellic, who’s succinctly described as “a drug dealing de-fucking-generate from some armpit in Eastern Europe,” is in town to start a new life and, players slowly discover, make up for sins in his past.
