Trek to the Troops teams up with Editz Planet Co owner Luis “Dj Vulcan” Valentin to create a Weekly Podcast that we are dubbing QUAD-T since Trek To The Troops has four T’s (TTTT) figured it would sound catchy and would almost look like a Station’s call letters though really they don’t use Q as a start for call letters W’s and K’s. The Podcast is an entertainment podcast with the target audience US Troops overseas.

Unlike Trek to the Troops originally created as a Sci-Fi Celebrate US Armed Forces it’s going to be generally an entertainment podcast we will have guest Celebrities who will drop into the show, the cool thing that hasn’t been done that I know of and is a central part of the QUAD-T concept is that we will work on having troops overseas be an active part of the podcast, like them able to call into to our voice mail line and comment and even ask questions to the celebs we will have on future podcast. We will try to announce new guest two weeks in advance so we can get the voice mail questions from the troops overseas so that those in the service can take part of hosting the show in a way. No other online podcast has had such an active role with the troops.

We already have explained the idea to MWRs (Moral Welfare and Recreation) in Iraq and Afghanistan they love the idea and even said they will help promote it by playing the Podcast in the MWR centers and telling the troops where they can download the podcasts. There is the chance that if success the podcast may get an hour long show on Armed Forces Radio Network if the demand for it is strong enough.

Now since all the research and development ideas have been completed now we are just wrapping up on last bit of equipment we need to get our little studio completed. We are located in Los Angeles, California just miles away from Beverly Hills and Hollywood so we will be able to get many of the Celebs in our home Studio since we are so close nearby.

It may take awhile for the Troops hosting concept to start taking shape but as more troops listen in we will get more troops being involved with the show. After the first few shows we will then be seeking sponsors to donate some money for Ads in the podcast to help with the cost of the podcasting space needed on our web-server. We hope to launch the podcast by early June that’s target date we will keep you posted if we are going to be able to keep that target date.
