Your co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle was so right to call attention to an inspiring story of a woman shattering glass ceilings in a society where doing so is immeasurably difficult. We never heard an answer to her question: why did you feel so compelled to “ruin her thing?”

Video: Medal of Honor Ceremony for two Vietnam Veterans

President Obama awarded the Medal of Honor to two Vietnam War soldiers, Army Command Sergeant Major Bennie Adkins and Army Specialist Four Donald Sloat. Specialist Sloat received the award posthumously for his actions while serving as a machine gunner. Dr. William Sloat accepted on his brother’s behalf. Sergeant Major was given the award for actions taken as an intelligence sergeant. The president in his remarks recounted their combat actions and heroics. He emphasized the importance of honoring Vietnam veterans for their sacrifices, saying they have not always gotten the thanks they deserve.

robin-williams-deadOn August 11, 2014, at approximately 11:55 am, Marin County Communicationsreceived a 9-1-1 telephone call reporting a male adult had been located unconscious and not breathing inside his residence in unincorporated Tiburon, CA. The Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Tiburon Fire Department and Southern Marin Fire Protection District were dispatched to the incident with emergency personnel arriving on scene at 12:00 pm. The male subject, pronounced deceased at 12:02 pm has been identified as
Robin McLaurin Williams, a 63 year old resident of unincorporated Tiburon, CA.

154189_10151283095474405_77460831_nOn a personal note,  Robin Williams and I met in Ballad, Iraq just four days after the capture of Saddam Hussian.  I was guarding the side of the stage as he came up and surprised me.  He noted that I could pass as his son, I said “Dad wheres my allowance?”  we joked back and fourth for five minutes exchange it was such a fun and loving memory,  he brought much cheer and laughter to all of us troops there, and he made many more trips to visits with the troops overseas since then.  I am saddened for the loss of such a fun and loving man.
