Breaking News: Active Shooter on Fort Hood Army Base

forthoodsignJust reported in, There has been a active shooting situation on Fort Hood, Army Base.   Fort Hood officials have announced multiple people have been shot and at least one has left by paramedics.

As you all recall  there was a horrific shooting at Fort Hood in 2009 now another one.   Will share details as I receive them.

Update:  5:05pm PST  4/2/2014

CNN: reports indicate the shooting was soldier on soldier involved shooting   Name has been disclosed but not confirmed of possible shooter. Not a Terrorism event.

Update:  4:56pm PST  4/2/2014

CNN:  4 Confirmed dead that’s including shooter and 14 injured.

Update:  4:11pm PST  4/2/2014

CNN:  Has reported that shooter has been shot and killed not sure if self inflicted or if responder has shot and killed still early.   Still Active situation to clear the buildings and make sure is safe.

AP—A press release issued by Fort Hood’s press office just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday confirms that there has been a shooting on post with injuries reported.

A Fort Hood press official confirmed that at least one person has died in a Wednesday shooting at Fort Hood, according to WFAA-TV in Dallas.

The Bell County Sheriff’s Department confirmed at about 5:15 p.m. that there was an active shooter at the Army post.

A “shelter in place” order was sent Wednesday on the base’s Twitter feed and posted on its Facebook page.

KCEN-TV in Waco is reporting that there is at least one person being transported to a hospital. The TV station also cited reports of victims at the Battle Simulation Center, though those reports have not been confirmed. A reporter on scene said he saw two S.W.A.T. vehicles on post.

Fort Hood, the largest Army post in the U.S., was the scene of a mass shooting in 2009.
