A drunk man who received free drinks after he told other passengers he was a soldier deploying to Afghanistan, forced a JetBlue plane to make an emergency landing because of his violent behavior. I don’t understand how this sort of thing keeps happening. For today’s airline traveler there are really only three rules you need to follow in order to have a safe and successful flight for you and your fellow passengers:
- Sit Down.
- Buckle Your Seat Belt
- Shut The Fuck Up.
23 year old Orion Koshinsky failed all three of these rules on a flight which was supposed to land in Fort Lauderdale Florida, but was diverted to Jacksonville. He stood up early in the flight and declared:
“”I want to make sure everybody on the plane knows that I’m in the military and you can buy me drinks!”
After getting free booze from kind passengers who wanted to send a soldier off right, Orion began getting belligerent, demanding more free drinks! At least it was on JetBlue with the free TVs, and passengers could tune him out; on Southwest this would have been the inflight entertainment. When passengers and flight attendants confronted him, he began yelling. When the flight attendant asked him to unbuckle his seatbelt so they could move him to the back of the plane away from other passengers he claimed, “I can’t, I’ve never been on a flight before.” So she started to do it for him at which point Orion told the flight attendant “Don’t touch me, I will kill you.” In his drunken state might have meant “I’ll have another Bud Light.” Flight attendants informed the captain of the situation who declared a “Level Two Threat.” You can see video of him getting all Level Two right here:
You will be shocked to learn that the only place Orion was actually being deployed to was REHAB! He claimed he was serving his country, so he could get served free drinks. That is probably the worst way to get free drinks. Now he is charged with interfering with flight crew members, a felony offense which has a maximum 20 year prison term. A judge ordered him to continue on his way to rehab… via bus.
